Lightwire has been advised of a mains power outage at our Wairakau site causing slower connections for customers in the Waitoa area. The mains power provider has dispatched technicians to investigate further. The current ETR for this fault is around 5PM this evening. We will continue to update you if there are any changes.

We have included additional sites with this update that may be experiencing degraded services due to this event.

Our fibre provider has identified the source of the fibre cut to be due to road works and is working towards addressing the fault. There is no estimated time to restoration at the moment.

We have taken steps to alleviate pressure on redundant network paths, but services may become further degraded as network demand increases into the afternoon until fibre repairs are made.

[2022-04-21 12:34:24 NZST] Lightwire Engineers are currently investigating a possible fault at our Waiterimu transmission site causing an outage to associated connections. We will be working hard to get you back online as soon as we can!

Other sites connected to the Waiterimu transmission site may also be experiencing degradation of service while connections use backup pathways.

[2022-04-22 15:27:16 NZST] Unfortunately, remote remediations have been unsuccessful in solving the intermittent disconnection fault Lightwire engineers have identified. Due to this, we will be performing emergency maintenance to replace radio equipment on site.

You will experience an outage of up to 30 minutes within the next 2 hours while the equipment is replaced.
