Lightwire engineers have stood up a temporary fibre connection with our upstream provider due to a currently unknown time frame for fault resolution on our original primary fibre service. We anticipate that this temporary fix should restore services to as near normal as possible.

[2025-08-01 08:46:37 NZST] Our upstream fibre provider is still working on a resolution for our fibre fault and have indicated the solution may be more complicated than when initially scoped. Lightwire engineers have been happy with how our redundant network paths have been handling the load through this period, but are continually monitoring the situation and will be implementing improvements to reduce network congestion where they can.

[2025-07-25 15:06:45 NZST] Lightwire engineers have been working with our upstream fibre provider to resolve a fibre fault at our Waotu transmission site. Unfortunately, they will be unable to resolve the fault before end of today. A return visit to site on Monday has been scheduled.
Due to the nature of the fault, our fibre backhaul is down and the network is using redundant paths. Customers could experience speed degradation during peak hours as a result of this.
