Lightwire Engineers have been made aware of a carrier issue affecting large parts of the national network. We are slim on details at the moment but we have ruled out Lightwire Network specific issue. We will provide updates as they come through to us.

[2025-06-06 11:16:03 NZST] Lightwire Engineers are investigating a potential issue affecting Lightwire services. We don't have much detail just yet sorry, but senior engineers are looking into it with urgency and we will provide more information as soon as possible.

Latest update:

Local power has been restored and service should be back to normal. Upstream provider will continue to monitor for stability.

History:

[2025-06-01 11:27:44 NZST] A technician has attended the affected site and confirmed service outage is caused by local power outage due to heavy local flooding.

[2025-06-01 10:56:22 NZST] An Upstream Carrier has made us aware of an outage on their network that may cause loss of service. Their technicians are investigating this, but they have not provided an ETR just yet.

Lightwire engineers are aware of an outage to our Hauturu transmission site due to underperforming battery backup. There is a chance the site may come back online with more sunlight, but Lightwire technicians will be attending site today to replace the batteries.
