Lightwire was just updated by upstream partners that the incident has been resolved. The issue was caused by a routing issue affecting specific call paths across carrier interconnects, and normal service has now been restored as of 12:05 (AEST). Root cause is still under investigation.

[2026-04-22 14:22:34 NZST] We’re currently seeing intermittent issues with inbound and outbound voice calls across some Australian carriers.

Inbound calls may fail on first attempt, including 1800 numbers. Retrying the call will usually succeed. Outbound calls may see brief disruption but are generally completing.

Emergency services are not impacted.

The issue was identified at 11:05 AEST, 22 April 2026 and is under investigation with upstream carriers.
