Risk Warning - Maungatautari Fibre Cut

Latest update:

Our upstream fibre provider has completed repairs on the fibre cut and services have been restored to normal.

History:

[2022-05-22 14:23:54 NZST] Lightwire has been informed of a major fibre cut affecting our Maungatautari transmission site. Our upstream fibre provider has technicians on site assessing repairs but is unable to provide an ETA on service restoration.

Customers may experience degraded speeds during peak hours as our network utilizes backup paths until fibre services are restored.

Risk Warning - Mil Road Repeater

Lightwire has been made aware off a loss of mains power for the Mil Road Repeater Site. While this site does have battery backup in the event of an extended outage you may lost connection completely until mains power is restored.

Lightwire is aware that the battery backup at our solar Neavesville Repeater site is nearing depletion due to a large number of days with insufficient sunlight. Lightwire technicians have been addressing as many of our solar sites that require battery replenishment as they can.

Unfortunately, we were unable to attend your site today and it's possible it may lose power overnight. Your site should power back on with sufficient sunlight, but it could remain off until attended by our technicians.

Lightwire is aware that our Tauhei repeater site is currently offline due to battery backup depletion. The site should resume operation this morning with the incoming daylight but we will be attending today to replenish battery backup manually.
