Loss of service - Parawera region

[2025-01-27 07:17:32 NZDT] Remote restoration attempts for the Parawera radio tower have not been successful.

We are planning to send a technician to site with replacement equipment before noon today, Monday 27th January. An estimated-time-to-resolution (ETR) will follow once the technician is en route.


[2025-01-27 06:06:31 NZDT] Lightwire engineers are aware of an issue with our Parawera radio transmission site that will be causing a complete loss of service for customers in the area. We are investigating the scope of the problem and will attempt to resolve this remotely.

In the event this can not be solved remotely we will attempt to send a site technician for further investigation and remediation.

Unplanned Outage - Thames

Latest update:

Lightwire engineers have observed a number of days of stability at the site but, out of an abundance of caution, have decided to replace the piece of equipment which encountered an issue on Sunday night. These works will take place tomorrow, Thursday the 30th.

A notification with further detail regarding these planned works will be sent shortly and this incident resolved.
