Mains Outage - Te Akau Road

Lightwire has been informed of an outage to mains power supplying the Te Akau Road transmission site. While our site has backup battery power there is a chance that in the event of an extended outage or factors outside of Lightwire's control you may lose your connection.

Mains Outage Affecting Maramarua School Transmission Site

Lightwire has been informed of an outage to mains power supplying the Maramarua School Fibre Transmission Site. While our site has backup battery power there is a chance that in the event of an extended outage or factors outside of Lightwire's control you may lose your connection. The attached sites of Rataroa, Cozen Road, Kaihere and Marchant Repeater will be using backup pathways which may cause a decrease in throughput. Unplanned Incident - Fibre outage - Pirongia Area

Dear Customer

Lightwire has been informed of a fault affecting our main fibre link in the Pirongia area. Our engineers are currently investigating the cause of this fault and we will continue to update you as this situation progresses.

You will be experiencing a slower connection during this time, we are working to resolve this as will update you again when we have this resolved.

Possible audio issues on some calls in New Zealand

Latest update:

Our upstream carrier has made some changes on their network, and we're now seeing inbound calls routing to us correctly. Lightwire engineers are continuing to monitor for impact, and are investigating the root cause.

[2022-02-15 08:51:43 NZDT] NZ inbound calls are still presenting with no audio. Lightwire is engaging with the affected carrier to escalate this issue.

We have been able to ensure continuity of outbound calling.


[2022-02-15 07:46:27 NZDT] Lightwire engineers are working with a New Zealand based carrier to resolve an issue. Calls inbound to New Zealand numbers on the Lightwire network may present no audio.

Unplanned Incident - Mains Outage - Te Ranga

Latest update:

The site is currently running on a backup generator as of 11:00 AM. The mains ETR as of the moment is 21:00 15/02/22, but a generator will be running overnight should the ETR be extended.

Due to an ongoing loss of mains power at our Minden transmission site, and depletion of battery back-up, you may experience a complete loss of service.
