NZ voice call routing issues

RESOLUTION: 09:56 NZST: The NZ call routing issues have been resolved. A technical analysis is ongoing and an incident report will be available within the coming days. We sincerely apologise for the disruption this issue has caused and are working to ensure this type of issue can be minimised or avoided in the future.

UPDATE 09:20 NZST: Lightwire has re-routed outbound calls away from the upstream carrier that is having issues, which should resolve most outbound calling. Inbound calling is still impacted by the upstream carrier and they are working on the issue at top priority.

ORIGINAL NOTIFICATION:

Lightwire is aware of an issue with NZ call routing which has occurred overnight and may be affecting the ability to place and receive NZ calls for some customers.

This currently appears to be an issue with call routing upstream of Lightwire and we are working with upstream carriers to determine where the issue is and are working towards a resolution with them as quickly as possible.

Lightwire outage in the Oropi area

Due to power issues at our Ohauiti (OHITI) transmitter site customers connected in the Oropi area may be experiencing a loss of service. A technician has been dispatched with a generator to get the site online, and to investigate the cause of the fault. Thank you for your patience.

Degraded connectivity within BOP

Due to a fibre break at a core part of our network in Tauranga, services are heavily degraded in the BOP region as all connections are moved over to our backup link. A technician has already been dispatched to investigate and fix the fault.

Te Miro Unplanned Outage

Due to an equipment fault some customers connected to the Te Miro (TMRO) Lightwire site may be experiencing a loss of service at this time. Technicians have been dispatched to address the issue. Thank you for your patience.

Puketutu Wimax outage

UPDATE 17/05/18 08:44 - Technicians are expected back on site soon with spare parts. The nature of this fault means that some customers have not lost service at this time, but others have been offline since the fault occurred. There are likely to be multiple short outages for all affected customers while technicians are working through on site work.

Some customers connected to the Puketutu (PKTTU) WiMax service may be experiencing a loss of service at this time. A Lightwire technician is en-route to investigate the fault on site.
