Unplanned Outage - Whakamaru Area

A loss of service has occurred overnight and continues to be offline today - 6th January 2022. Lightwire technicians are currently preparing equipment and will be heading to the Whakamaru site this afternoon to implement fixes and ensure the site comes back online.

[2022-01-05 15:07:34 NZDT] Lightwire has been informed of a related fault with the equipment at this site today, we are currently working on implementing a fix for this.

There is the potential for a loss of service in the next few hours as our site runs on battery power.

[2022-01-04 17:13:05 NZDT] Lightwire engineers have identified a fault within our network that will require a technician to attend the site and replace existing equipment. A Lightwire technician will be helicoptered to our site this evening in an attempt to resolve this incident.

[2022-01-04 15:50:00 NZDT] Lightwire has been made aware of a loss of service affecting our network in the Whakamaru and surrounding areas. The cause of this outage is currently unknown but we are aware of it and actively working to find and resolve this fault.
